Newcastle Senior School – update on Covid19 restrictions lifting
What does this mean for Senior School?
Activities/site usage that can take place from 15th of June, 2020.
· School assemblies (limited to 15 min).
· Hydrotherapy pools can be used.
· Allied health professionals (therapists) may return to face to face sessions in school.
· Incursions – external providers can provide activities to support delivery of curriculum.
· Excursions to outdoor locations with no physical distancing requirements.
· School Photos
Activities/site usage that can take place from beginning of Term 3, 2020.
· All school sporting activities.
· Inter school student events including sport, transition.
· Work experience.
· Parent/teacher meetings however there is a strong preference for online meetings.
Activities under consideration from Term 3, 2020.
· School camps
· Excursions
· Parent attendance at assemblies and other school events (e.g. graduation, speech days etc.
Student Drop off & Pick Up
• At this stage parents are not allowed on school grounds.
• When collecting your child it is important not to gather in groups outside of the school, collect your child and leave immediately.
Medical Concerns
• Some students may not be able to return due to ongoing health problems.
• If you think your child can not attend school for health reasons you must provide the school with a medical certificate which states your child can not attend school because of a medical reason.
• Any child that arrives at school with a runny nose, cough, high temperature or cold will be sent home immediately.
