There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for such as:
- uniforms
- school books and equipment
- community access programs and excursions - cost of excursion plus fee if using buses provided by the school's charity. At Newcastle Senior School this cost is $3 for the local community, $5 for further distance and $10 for Sydney;
- extra-curricular activities.
Voluntary school contribution
At the start of each year we may ask for a voluntary school contribution to enhance our educational and sporting programs. Currently these costs are:
- $25 per term or $100 per year
We try to keep any additional costs to a minimum and may be able to assist families who are having financial difficulty paying schooling costs.

Financial assistance
If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.
Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
