HMAS say goodbye
For over 25 years, the HMAS Newcastle has been a patron of Newcastle Senior school ( formally Hunter Orthopaedic School ) and have donated time and skills to our school. They have tirelessly fundraised and visited our school, working on projects, and spending time with our students.
As part of the decomissioning of HMAS Newcastle this year, we had a very special ceremony including the unveilling of this amazing mural, which shows the journey of our school and HMAS Newcastle over the years.
Our students thoroughly enjoy the crew visits to school, and were also very excited and humbled to recieve a cheque for $27,500. At the unvelling, it was also announced that a new ship, HMAS Choules would be adopting our school as its charity partner.
Thankyou HMAS Newcastle, for all you have done for us over the years. We will miss you.
